In the Lysti cottage you will travel back to idyllic childhood cottage holidays. Located in the village of Siika-Kämä in Rovaniemi, Lysti Cottage is a compact cottage that is nostalgically charming with updated amenities to make your stay effortless. The most enthusiastic go to the sandy beach for a swim or sledging down a hill. For the pleasure-seekers, the terrace or the dock will be ideal. In the Lystikämä Country & Lake Retreat area you will find plenty of leisurely activities where you can feel the relaxing presence of Lapland's nature.

About this space
58 km south-east of Rovaniemi city centre, Lake Siika-Kämä 25 m (lake length 2 km, width 800 m), gently shelving shore, sandy bottom, pier, own rowing boat. Possibility to swim also on the child-friendly sandy beach next to the cottage (50 m).
Wooden cottage, built 1970, completely renovated and modernized. Living room with sofa bed, alcoves with 2 beds, kitchenette, washroom/toilet, hallway. Wireless internet access ( WiFi).
Separate sauna 20 m, steam room (wood-burning stove and stove tank) and sauna room. Sauna has electric light and summer water supply inside, in winter water is carried in buckets to sauna from main building.
During the dry season, a campfire site on the beach. The two cottages also share a 1 km nature trail with a shelter and fireplace (can also be used in winter).
For pets there is an extra charge of 30 €/reservation.
Good fishing waters right from the beach. Lake with pike perches, pikes and perches. Known to have good berry forests nearby. Visitors can share a 1 km nature trail with another cottage, with a shelter and outdoor fireplace.
Sheep and chickens on the farm in the yard in summer from 25 June to 30 September. Animals can also be visited and fed.
There is a sledging hill and sledges available for children. The owner makes a cross-country ski trail from the cottage yard, approx. 5 km long. Snowmobile rides and guiding services available at different prices from the owner. Possibility to rent an Irbis snowmobile from the owner. It's small and slower than normal snowmobile, ideal for example, ice fishing trips.
Pick-up service by arrangement at a different price, e.g. from the airport.
Ranua Zoo 50 km, Ounasvaara Ski Resort 60 km, Arctic Circle 70 km.

Reviews
Perfect. You can rent snowshoes and have a snowride trip with Miika. The cottage is very cosy, confortable and private (very independante and apart from the other houses). The bed is very large ad confortable and there is everything you need for a small a long stay in the cottage. The sauna is a few meters away, easy to used ans only for the cottage. It is pretty far from everything (we were looking for that but you need a car) few meter from a big lake where you can walk-on during winter. Perfect stay to rest and discover the area.

Many thanks to the owner/landlord for taking care of us. The cottage had everything you needed and more. The sauna provided warm and soft baths. There was plenty to do and exercise for a couple of days in the nearby countryside; snowshoeing and skiing. Good memories remain and there are plans to come again - alone or together.

I recommend this place. The cottage was in a clean condition. The host gave us good tips about the spots and we didn't have to return empty handed. The snowmobile and sledge could be rented. The ice was still good at the end of April.
